Frequently
asked questions.
What airport should I fly into?
Unfortunately, Las Terrenas is not served by a primary international airport. We recommend flying into either Santiago (STI) or Santo Domingo (SDQ), both of which are conveniently located within a two to three hour drive of Las Terrenas.
How do I get to Las Terrenas from the airport?
We would be happy to assist you in coordinating transportation. Please share your flight details with us once available. There are several reliable transportation companies we can recommend, along with their contact information. Alternatively, car rentals are available at the airport; while the main highways are well maintained, please note that some local roads may be less developed. The drive offers breathtaking views of the lush tropical landscape.
Do we need to rent a car?
We recommend renting a car to explore the stunning beaches and charming town of Las Terrenas at your leisure. Please note that we will be arranging limited transportation on the day of the celebration.
What will be the dress code?
We invite you to embrace the spirit of a tropical island escape. Please feel free to don your best beach casual chic attire, perfect for an evening of dining and dancing. Further details will follow.
Should I bring my children?
While we adore spending time with your wonderful children, we encourage you to enjoy a relaxing mini getaway for the evening.
Will there be other events other than the celebration on the 26th?
Yes! We are excited to host welcome cocktails on April 24th and a pool party on Sunday, April 27th. Additionally, we will coordinate a small excursion on the 25th for those interested. More details will be shared soon. We look forward to sharing this slice of paradise with all of you and hope you can extend your stay to join in these events!
What time will the celebration begin on the 26th?
The celebration will commence at approximately 5 PM, with sunset expected around 7:30 PM. The celebration will take place both outdoors and indoors. The average weather during this time is pleasantly warm, ranging from the mid/high 70s to low 80s (approximately 23°C to 27°C). As with any tropical destination, rain can be unpredictable, but we are making necessary arrangements for such possibilities.
Where should we stay?
Las Terrenas is a beautiful and less touristy area of the Dominican Republic. While there are a few boutique hotels, numerous lovely villas are also available. We have curated a short list of accommodations for your convenience. While we have not made specific arrangements with local hotels, we are more than happy to assist you in coordinating your stay.
Can I bring a plus one?
We have allocated a limited number of guests, but we do have some flexibility for additional attendees. We kindly ask that you confirm your RSVP accordingly. If you are uncertain, please provide an accurate count, and we can always make adjustments later.
What type of food will be served?
We will be offering a traditional Dominican buffet. Should you have any dietary requirements, please let us know, and we will make appropriate arrangements. Kindly specify your needs on your RSVP.
What should I pack?
We suggest lots of sunblock as the Caribbean sun is stronger than you may expect. Mosquitoes can be prevalent, especially in the evenings or near water. Bring insect repellent and consider anti-itch cream. Lastly, we would suggest packing a surge protector for your sensitive electronics as power surges/outages can and do happen. Voltage is 110 (US Adapters work everywhere).
